There are simple but basic steps to fully enjoy a candle:
How to light the candle
Light the wick on one side and let the flame spread throughout. The candle should be left burning for a minimum of 1 hour each time you decide to light it to promote the melting of the first part that acts as a barrier. This operation will help prevent the formation of “tunnels” and that residual wax remains on the edges. It will also allow it to cool evenly, level when it goes out. The height of the flame may vary during the use of the product, and occasionally it may appear as extinguished. This phenomenon is normal: even if it appears to be lower, the flame continues to produce heat and its height should restore during use.
For best consumption results, we recommend leaving the candle burning for up to 4 hours.
Wick Maintenance
For proper wick maintenance, it is good to check the length of the wick because if it is too short it will not be able to produce enough heat to keep the flame burning, if it is too long it may start to produce smoke.
It is recommended to keep the length of the wick controlled to 1 cm.
With these cares, you will no longer wonder: why does the candle wick go out?
How to place the candle
Place the candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface and make sure the candle is placed away from children, pets, materials that can attract fire and other heat sources. For your safety, move the candle only when the flame is out and the wax is cold. Removing or spilling the liquid wax could cause the wick to go out or be damaged, jeopardizing proper consumption of the candle in the future.
How to extinguish the candle
Do not blow on the candle to extinguish it: air fuels the fire while what extinguishes it is precisely the lack of the latter; secondly because blowing on the flame creates smoke that annihilates all the scent acquired in the room.
With the help of tweezers or the tip of scissors dip the wick into the liquid wax that has formed; the flame will be extinguished immediately. At this point return the wick to an upright position. By following these simple steps you will have generated no smoke and also the wick will be perfectly waxed for the next lighting!
